EU film festival begins in city today
A five-day long European Union Film Festival will begin at the British Council auditorium in the city from today (Saturday). A total of nine films from the Netherlands, Finland, Norway, Britain, Hungary, Slovenia, Germany and France will be screened during the festival.
The films are, Young Kess, One Way Ticket to Mumbasaa, The Claim, Anansi, Pleasant Days, Blind Spot, Nowhere Africa, A Girl and Those Who Love Me can take the train.
The inaugural ceremony of the EU film festival will be held at 7pm today (Saturday) at British Council auditorium.
Among others Esko. Kentreschynskji, Ambassador, Head of Delegation of European Commission, Andries Van Der Meulen, Charge De affaire, Dutch Embassy, Dr. June Rollinson, Director British Council, Ahmed Muztabah Zamal, Secretary General of Rainbow Film Society, Young Kees, Director, Andre Van Duren will be present at the ceremony.
Ahead of the film festival, a press conference was held at a city hotel on Friday. Among others, Dr. June Rollinson, Director British Council, Anne Marchal (Belgium) First Secretary of Delegation to the European Commission to Bangladesh, Jenni Christensen (Denmark) Third Secretary of Delegation to the European Commission to Bangladesh and Ahmed Muztaba Zamal, Secretary General of Rainbow Film Society were present at the press conference.
The festival is open for all and the ticket will be issued on first come and first serve basis without taking money.
