Shab-e-Barat – the night of emancipation

S
hab-e-Barat – Muslim religious rite is celebrated either on the fourteenth or fifteenth night of Shaban, the eighth month of the Muslim calendar year. Shab-e-Barat is a note to Muslim for preparation of Holy Ramadan which usually starts after the fifteenth days of Shab-e-Barat. In the sub-continent, Shab-e-Barat is observed as the night of good fortune.

Skies light up on the night with colorful fire works. Houses, streets, Mosques are also illuminated with lamps and candles.
